Jeremie, good luck in wherever your journey takes you! Ryan, welcome to WeVideo!

My name is Jim Peelgren and I am the Tech Teacher for an elementary (K-6) private school in Chino Hills (So. CA) - Heights Christian Schools. I just started my 5th year of teaching. (This is my 2nd career following 40+ years as a tech VP/CIO in hospitals.) I have been using WeVideo for about 2 years. With the start of the pandemic, we were quarantined from our students for the last quarter of the 19/20 school year. We returned to in-person / on campus learning in the 20/21 school year, but had all the social distancing and regs to deal with. We continued that this school year but are back with full student populations for all classes / grade.

The largest use of WeVideo are with the weekly chapel videos I produce (in lieu of “live” chapels)… complete with music, devotions, and all of that! However, I also help record events for our choir and drama clubs which creates more work but are a lot of fun! WeVideo is one of the most fun and creative tools I use in my job.

Again, welcome Ryan!

Change is always exciting and scary! Best wishes to Jeremie and to Ryan on their journeys. I am a tech instructor for a K-4 elementary in the great state of Iowa. WeVideo is a core at the 2-4 levels; what a great program for allowing creative geniuses to express themselves. I am also in charge of social media and use WeVideo to share information about new staff members and celebrations and everyday things that are happening in our community.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I am very much looking forward to connecting with as many of you as I can over the next few weeks. In addition to the super fun stuff you saw in the video, professionally, I have spent more than a decade working in formal and informal learning environments. I am a former 3rd and 4th grade teacher, after school and summer camp instructor & director, and most recently before joining WeVideo was the director of a curriculum department specializing in STEAM learning and maker education.

My primary role here is to help build out activities for teachers as well as highlight and share amazing resources you all have. If I see something that someone has created that becomes the inspiration for project or activity idea I will definitely be connecting with you. Glad to be part of this amazing community!
